Annie’s Hideaway Puzzle from MasterPieces

This Annie’s Hideaway puzzle from MasterPieces caught our eye at Hobby Lobby because the image on the box was so colorful and the scene so fun. We usually do larger puzzles, but we don’t let that stop us from doing any size if we like the picture. Plus there are times when we just want a quicker, relaxing puzzle that rewards us a bit sooner than a week-long (or longer) effort.

Bright And Fun

This was one of my favorite puzzles just because the kids room in the image just looked fun. Big time fun. Annie’s Hideaway puzzle from MasterPieces has all sorts of neat things in it. Dinosaurs. A fire truck. A model airplane. And I have to say, it is one of best organized toy collections that I’ve seen. But you would have to be careful of where you step…

The Last Piece

This puzzle contains 550 pieces. The final puzzle is about 24″ wide and 18″ high. There was no poster included, but I didn’t really miss it. The pieces are fairly big and thick and fit fairly well. There is a bit of a gap between the pieces in places, but that didn’t detract from the fun of assembling it or enjoying the final puzzle. The image is well-done and fun to look at.

Love Is Sweet Puzzle from MasterPieces

This Love is Sweet puzzle from MasterPieces was one of the few random cut piece puzzles that we’ve done. Most puzzles we do seem to be ribbon cut, so the pieces are all fairly similar. Not with random cut, that’s for sure. The pieces are crazy. Some have all sorts of weird tabs or blanks. Actually a lot of them do. It’s challenging and fun at the same time.

Yummy Treats

What is it about puzzles with great-looking food in them? This Love is Sweet puzzle from MasterPieces is full of all sorts of colorful candies. Tasty candies. Though not overly difficult, the similar colors do make it a bit more challenging. We found the windows, though to be the most challenging. This puzzle didn’t take us long to complete but it was a joy to sit back and look at when it was done.

The Last Piece

This puzzle included a poster. And that’s a good thing because the picture on the box front is slightly obscured by a blue awning that is not part of the final puzzle. There are 750 extra-thick cut pieces in this puzzle. The assembled puzzle is about 24″ wide and 18″ high. The artwork is very nice and colorful.

Shopkeepers Cakes and Treats Puzzle from MasterPieces

Old store puzzles are always one of our favorites. Pastry shops, candy stores, ice cream shops…. Doesn’t matter the subject, we just like the old stores. This Shopkeepers Cakes and Treats puzzle from MasterPieces was a fun puzzle with a nice old store featuring all sorts of sweets. It wasn’t a particularly difficult puzzle, though it did have its challenges.

Another Antique Mall Find

We found this Shopkeepers Cakes and Treats puzzle from MasterPieces in an antique mall in Ohio. We often find puzzles in antique malls. And we’ve had great luck always getting puzzles that aren’t missing any pieces (just one bad one so far!). Some puzzles are labelled as ‘complete’, which is always great to see. And we only buy those where the pieces are inside resealable baggies. We appreciate that the seller has taken the time (and expense) of bagging the pieces so none are easily lost when people open the boxes to examine them.

The Last Piece

This 750 piece puzzle included a poster. The assembled puzzle is about 24″ wide and 18″ high. The pieces fit very well and the image quality on the pieces is good. The colors were great and the pieces are cut perfectly.

Home Sweet Home Baking Bread Puzzle from MasterPieces

This Home Sweet Home Baking Bread puzzle from MasterPieces was one of the first puzzles we made when we started getting into puzzling. This is the kind of puzzle that got us to where we are now: addicted. We tend to make puzzles that remind us of days gone by. Old toys. Old trucks. Or Vintage kitchens. This puzzle has wonderful imagery and color. It’s not the hardest puzzle we’ve done, but it did have its challenges. And rewards.

Smaller But Still Great

We started out our puzzling addiction with smaller puzzles, like this 550 piece Home Sweet Home Baking Bread puzzle from MasterPieces. We thought it was big enough at the time. And challenging enough for sure. Now, we find ourselves doing larger (but not crazy large!) puzzles, often with 1000 to 2000 pieces. But, as long as they have wonderful images like this one, we’ll do any size puzzle. It’s about enjoying the journey, from opening the box to putting in that last piece!
