We’re always on the lookout for puzzles of Americana scenes. More often than not that means a puzzle based on the artwork from Charles Wysocki. But this time, we lucked into finding an older used puzzle from artist Bob Pettes. It has some Wysocki vibes, but the style of the art is a bit different. We think it’s one of the best works we’ve done. Well, we didn’t ‘do’ it, but you know what I mean! The Travelling Man Puzzle from MasterPieces is a great example of Americana-style artwork. The detail is fantastic, as are the colors.

The Farm’s Buzzing
The scene in The Travelling Man Puzzle from MasterPieces is of a travelling salesman bringing his wagon to the farm. He is peddling all sorts of wares. The people are excited, buying this-and-that off his wagon. It’s a great, detailed scene with wonderful colors. There are lots of ‘things’ to be found. One of our favorite things to do after the last piece goes into a puzzle is to find all the fun things in the imagery. This one has many to be found.
The Last Piece
This 1000 piece puzzle did not include a poster. The assembled puzzle is about 34″ wide and 23″ high. That’s large for a 1000 piece puzzle, but that’s because the pieces are larger. The pieces fit fairly well (ours were a little loose but this is a used puzzle) and are pretty easy to identify. The colors were clear and nice. We did not encounter any ‘false fit’ pieces. Everything went and fit where it should.
This was a fun puzzle.
