Charleston Puzzle from Dowdle

This was our first puzzle from artist Eric Dowdle. We have been attracted to his works from the moment we first saw them. This Charleston puzzle from Dowdle did not disappoint. The colors are amazing. The image is amazing. And oh, was it ever a challenging puzzle to complete! This is one of the most enjoyable final results we’ve done. It took us a while, but it was oh so fun! We are looking forward to more puzzles from Mr. Dowdle!

Fun Cuts

The pieces in this Charleston puzzle from Dowdle are cut fairly ‘weird.’ They’re all sorts of shapes and sizes. They really threw us for a loop at first. But then we realized that those random cuts are a lot more fun than ‘ribbon cuts’, where all of the pieces are similar if not the same. You can see a few of them in the close-up picture, below.

The Last Piece

This 1000 piece puzzle included a wonderful, large poster. The puzzle is very frameable. For that matter, the poster is too! The assembled puzzle is about 20″ wide and 27″ high. The pieces are random-cut and fit really well, although we did encounter a few pieces that weren’t completely cut. The puzzle picture is amazingly bright and colorful. This is a tremendously fun puzzle!

Family Vacation Puzzle from Buffalo Games

Back in the day we had what were called ‘clip-art’ CDs. You could buy a CD chock full of drawings, from animals to planes to trees. Anything you could imagine you could find on a clip-art CD. This Family Vacation puzzle from Buffalo Games reminded me of a clip-art CD. It literally has 100s and 100s of elements in it. Bicycles, radios, skates, fishing lures, you name it. Anything you can think of, chances are it’s in there somewhere.

Aimee Stewart

We are both huge Aimee Stewart puzzle fans. You know you’re always in for a bit of a challenge when you make one of her designs. And you know you’re going to have frame-worthy results that pop with tons of color and fun. This Family Vacation puzzle from Buffalo Games is no exception. Though it definitely has its challenging spots (I seriously thought I’d never finish the pieces that make up the car), it’s not frustrating.

Buffalo. And Ravensburger?

When we purchased this puzzle it came from Buffalo Games, a trusted name in puzzling. But now when I look online it’s available from Ravensburger, another trusted name in puzzling. I can only say the Buffalo version was great but given our great experience with other puzzles from Ravensburger, I’m willing to bet that their version is just as fantastic!

Our Buffalo (which we picked up at an antique mall) has 2000 pieces while the Ravensburger one contains 1000 pieces.

The Last Piece

This puzzle contains 2000 pieces. The final puzzle is about 26″ high and 38″ wide. There is a poster included, thankfully. The pieces are small but thick and fit really well. The image is crisp and bright. This is an enjoyable, quality puzzle!

Family Campsite Puzzle from Buffalo Games

This Family Campsite puzzle from Buffalo Games was our first puzzle with hidden images. Honestly, I didn’t even notice it on the box. I just saw that the artist was Aimee Stewart. That’s all I needed to know that it would be a great puzzle. The hidden image thing ended up being a bonus.

Fun Things. Everywhere.

This is not our first Aimee Stewart puzzle that was absolutely full of objects. Everywhere. If you ever went camping back in the 70s or 80s, chances are a lot of the items you packed for the trip can be found in this puzzle. There’s definitely no shortage of things, colorful and fun, in this Family Campsite puzzle from Buffalo Games.

After you’re done, there’s a list of 10 images you’ll need to find inside the puzzle. They’re not too hard to find. And it’s fun to find them.

You could also do like we did and kinda keep an eye out for the hidden images as you put the puzzle together!

The Last Piece

This puzzle includes a poster which is a good thing because there were graphics on the box that hid parts of the puzzle. There are 500 pieces in this puzzle. The assembled puzzle is about 21″ wide and 15″ high. The pieces fit very well and the image quality on the pieces is fantastic. The colors were great and the pieces are cut perfectly. This is a quality puzzle that brings hours of enjoyment.

Tiki Beach Sunset Puzzle from Buffalo Games

This Tiki Beach Sunset puzzle from Buffalo Games had us quickly crowning Aimee Stewart as our favorite puzzle artist. The colors, the images and the objects in her puzzles just cannot be beat in our opinion. We are always drawn to her work. And often, we can recognize it from across the aisle in the store. There’s nothing else out there like it. We always have a stack of her puzzles on-hand, some waiting to be started and many already completed.

Enjoy The Challenge

We found a few areas of this Tiki Beach Sunset puzzle from Buffalo Games to be a bit challenging. Mostly because of the colors and shading. The rug on the floor, the ceiling and the fish tank were definitely harder areas than others.

It was also easy to get distracted by the many great objects in this puzzle. A turntable, skulls, model boats… a lizard… You name it. It’s just fun to assemble and more fun to sit back and enjoy when completed.
