Tiki Beach Sunset Puzzle by Buffalo Games

This Tiki Beach Sunset puzzle by Buffalo Games had us quickly crowning Aimee Stewart as our favorite puzzle artist. The colors, the images and the objects in her puzzles just cannot be beat in our opinion. We are always drawn to her work. And often, we can recognize it from across the aisle in the store. There’s nothing else out there like it. We always have a stack of her puzzles on-hand, some waiting to be started and many already completed.

Enjoy The Challenge

We found a few areas of this Tiki Beach Sunset puzzle by Buffalo Games to be a bit challenging. Mostly because of the colors and shading. The rug on the floor, the ceiling and the fish tank were definitely harder areas than others.

It was also easy to get distracted by the many great objects in this puzzle. A turntable, skulls, model boats… a lizard… You name it. It’s just fun to assemble and more fun to sit back and enjoy when completed.

The Last Piece

This puzzle included a brightly colored poster. There are 1000 pieces in this puzzle. The assembled puzzle is about 27″ wide and 20″ high. The pieces fit very well and the image quality on the pieces is fantastic. The colors were great and the pieces are cut perfectly. This is a quality puzzle that brings hours of enjoyment.

Full Moon Puzzle by BetterCo

I didn’t know whether to be happy or sad when a co-worker gave us this Full Moon puzzle by BetterCo. It didn’t take us long to realize that this one was going to be a challenge. We’d never done a round puzzle before, for starters. And we’d never done a puzzle with absolutely no colors in it before. We knew were in for hours of…. well, pain.

Where To Start

We started the Full Moon puzzle by BetterCo like we do any other puzzle: by sorting the pieces. Well that didn’t last long. How do you sort this one? Gray. Sorta gray. Lighter gray. And edges? Well that’s what we did. And in hindsight I think I’d maybe try a suggestion I read online: start with the middle. The pieces there are shaped a bit differently because you have a tight circle to begin with. Then you work around the edges of that, building as you go. I don’t know if that’d be a lot easier. But boy was our going ever slow the way we did it!

The Last Piece

This puzzle contains 1000 pieces. The final puzzle is a 26 1/2″ circle. The pieces fit well together. The image is of the moon, so it’s as detailed as you would expect. In the end this is a great puzzle to sit back and enjoy!

Pine Road Service Puzzle by Buffalo Games

Oh how fun! We so enjoyed assembling this Pine Road Service puzzle by Buffalo Games . Artist Hiro Tanikawa adds a cartoon feel to his art and it really shows in this fantastically fun puzzle. The colors and the imagery are top-notch. The detail is amazing. This is one of our favorite puzzles to have done. We will definitely seek out more works from Mr. Tanikawa!

Not Without Its Challenges

Not all is fun in games in this Pine Road Service puzzle by Buffalo Games. There are challenges all over. They make the final the result all the more enjoyable. The signs found around the puzzle were an easy place to start out. The trees were a bit tougher as was the sky above them. And parts of the road slowed us down too.

The Last Piece

This puzzle contains 1000 pieces. The final puzzle is about 19″ wide and 26″ high. The pieces are thick and cut perfectly. They fit together really well. The image is crisp and bright and the colors are amazing. This is an enjoyable, quality puzzle.

The Greatest Bookstore in the World Puzzle by Eurographics

Stress relief. That’s a big reason for doing puzzles. Yet, some puzzles can be stressful. And fortunately, a lot of them are in-between. The Greatest Bookstore in the World puzzle by Eurographics is one of those in-between-ers. The bookshelves weren’t too bad. Kind of relaxing. The flowers… a bit tougher. As were the brick walls along the edges. In the end, though, this was a very great puzzle and one we remember quite fondly. It was a balance of easier and harder.

How Much Is That Kitty In The Window

There are a few cute spots in this The Greatest Bookstore in the World puzzle by Eurographics. I mean, the whole puzzle is nice but there are always little things in a puzzle that you look back at with a smile, right? There’s a cute kitty in the bookstore window. And there’s one in one of the windows eyeing a pigeon. The bike is wonderful. And of course the bookstore looks like a great place to hang out and peruse for hours on end.

The Last Piece

This puzzle contains 1000 pieces. The final puzzle is about 19″ wide and 26″ high. There is no poster included. The pieces are thick and cut perfectly. They fit together really well. The image is crisp and bright. This is an enjoyable, quality puzzle.

Bob’s Hardware Puzzle by White Mountain

How fun!!! Oh how we loved this Bob’s Hardware puzzle by White Mountain. The colors and quality did not disappoint. We enjoyed every piece. And we really enjoyed the final image. That’s not to say that there weren’t difficult spots as we went along. But that’s ok. We knew that our efforts would be rewarded in the end and they were.

A Colorful Challenge

This Bob’s Hardware puzzle by White Mountain is busy. There’s stuff everywhere. Colorful stuff, too. Similar colors too, that make things a bit more challenging. The shop windows were tricky. I started by putting together the large sign above the shop thinking that it would be a walk-in-the-park. I was a bit wrong. It took me longer than I had expected. That’s ok. A puzzle with a few tough spots makes for a more enjoyable experience, I believe. We were really happy with the colorful imagery in the end. This is one of our favorite puzzles.

The Last Piece

This puzzle includes a poster. There are 1000 pieces in this puzzle. The assembled puzzle is about 30″ wide and 24″ high. The pieces fit very well and the image quality on the pieces is fantastic. The colors were great and the pieces are thick and cut perfectly. This is a quality puzzle that brings hours of enjoyment.

The French Walkway Puzzle by Eurographics

Every once-in-a-while we look thru the ‘to-do’ pile of puzzles and decide that it’s time to do a difficult one. The French Walkway puzzle by Eurographics was definitely in the ‘difficult’ category for us. The final image was fantastic. This will be one of our favorite puzzles forever. The memories of the challenging sections are long gone, replaced by time spent enjoying the final result.

So Many Challenges

There were so many parts of The French Walkway puzzle by Eurographics that posed a challenge. The walkway was tough but not too bad since the shading varied enough so you kinda knew where pieces go. The walls and ivy and flowers were all demanding.

My (somewhat crooked) picture does not do this puzzle justice. It was definitely a frame-able puzzle if you’re looking for something nice to hang on the wall.

The Last Piece

The pieces in this puzzle were nice and thick and cut perfectly. They stayed together like they should. The quality of the image was fantastic. There is no poster included with this puzzle, but the box itself is pretty large making it easier to look at the picture. This puzzle contains 1000 pieces and ends up being around 19″ high and 26″ wide.

Snack Stack Puzzle by Springbok

I have to fess up. I wanted to quit this puzzle 30 minutes into starting it. I thought the Snack Stack puzzle by Springbok was way too tough. I was frustrated. The colors on the pieces didn’t quite match the colors on the box. That might not seem like a big deal, but it is when you’re trying to tell the difference between cheese sauce, French fries and Cheetos for example. Fortunately, my wife talked me down and we put our heads together and struggled forward to completion.

Hours Of Hungry (But Slow) Progress

I love crazy sandwiches. The more this Snack Stack puzzle by Springbok came together, the hungrier I got. I should probably learn my lesson about buying food-related puzzles at some point but I appear to have a weakness for them. I’d probably finish a puzzle sooner if I’d stop looking at it and then started dreaming of having a sandwich.

The Last Piece

There is no poster included with this puzzle. The puzzle is about 24″ high and 30″ wide and contains 1000 pieces. The pieces are thick, cut well and fit well. As I mentioned, I felt that the color of the image on the puzzles could’ve better matched that of the picture on the box. But I guess the fact that they don’t match is part of the challenge!

Dr Seuss Oh The Places You Will Go Puzzle by The OP Games

How fun was this Dr Seuss Oh The Places You Will Go puzzle by The OP Games! Whimsical characters abound! Bright colors everywhere! This is one fantastic puzzle that was a true joy to look at. But to put together? Oh, it was not quite so easy! In the end, as Dr Seuss once said, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened”!

Do The Fun Parts First

There are so many great sections of this puzzle that are challenging but fun to make. Creatures are everywhere. We got those parts done first. Keep in mind as you’re doing the puzzle: “From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere!”. Nothing could be truer about this Dr Seuss Oh The Places You Will Go puzzle by The OP Games!

Then came the hard parts. The grass. The path. The sky. Lots of similar-colored pieces are to be found, presenting a great challenge that is well-rewarded in the end.

The Last Piece

This puzzle contains 1000 pieces. The final puzzle is about 19″ wide and 26″ high. There is no poster included. The pieces are thick and cut perfectly. They fit together really well. The image is crisp and bright. This is an enjoyable, quality puzzle. The one downside is that the picture on the front of the box is obscured by some of the title text. If you want to see what the finished puzzle will look like you have to reference the (smaller) picture on the back side of the box.

Taco Table Puzzle by Springbok

One of our favorite places to find puzzles is at antique malls. Sometimes we even luck out and find ones that are NIB (new in box), never having been put together. This time our luck was found at the Heart of Ohio Antique Center just outside of Springfield, Ohio. There’s a booth there that is chock full of new puzzles. Perhaps it was a local store going out of business, I do not know. But I do know that it had great puzzles, like this Taco Table puzzle by Springbok.

Hungry Puzzling

Food-related puzzles make us hungry. I mean really. Look at the fresh ingredients in this taco table puzzle by Springbok. I’d be all over those shrimp tacos. And the guac. The colors are so bright. What a fun puzzle to make. But it did make ours stomachs growl. A lot.

Pretty. But Not Easy.

There were parts of this puzzle that were quite challenging. There are lots of similar colors to be found all over. Fortunately, the puzzle image is quite clear. That helps. But it was still a great challenge and we enjoyed putting it together!

The Last Piece

This puzzle contains 1000 pieces. The final puzzle is about 24″ high and 30″ wide. The pieces are big, thick and fit really well. The image is crisp and bright. This is a great, quality puzzle!

Snack Treats Puzzle by Springbok

Oh sure, why not get another puzzle that makes us hungry while we put it together? I thought we learned our lesson when we did the sandwich puzzle. Or the ice cream shop puzzle. But nope. We had to make the Snack Treats puzzle by Springbok. And we’re glad we did! There are so many fun treats to be found in this puzzle. It was fun finding snacks we had as kids. Or adults. And yes, it made us hungry!

The Dreaded Missing Piece

We bought this Snack Treats puzzle by Springbok at an antique mall. The box was a little beat up. It was definitely used. You always run a risk buying a used puzzle. And for the first time, we got one that was missing a piece. And not some obscure corner piece that you might not notice either. Nope. It’s right there smack dab in the middle. I don’t think it could get any more obvious. Well, it adds character, right? And the price was right too. The missing piece did not detract from our enjoying this puzzle.

The Last Piece

This puzzle did not include a poster, but keep in mind we bought ours used so maybe a new one includes a poster. There are 1000 pieces in this puzzle. The assembled puzzle is about 30″ wide and 24″ high. The pieces fit very well and the image quality on the pieces is fantastic. The colors were great and the pieces are cut perfectly. This is a quality puzzle that brings hours of enjoyment.
