The Crab Shack Puzzle from White Mountain

We’ve assembled our share of busy puzzles. The ones where there are objects everywhere. Some more obvious than others. The Crab Shack puzzle from White Mountain has to be one of the best. The seaside setting is littered (in a nice way) with all sorts of great, interesting objects. Lots of them. It’s a whimsically fun place full of color. We often say we are ‘working on a puzzle’, but putting this one together was definitely not ‘work’!

A Work of Art

The imagery in The Crab Shack by White Mountain is really well done. It’s one of the best quality puzzles we’ve done. Sometimes you find things that don’t look quite right in a puzzle. Maybe an object that doesn’t quite fit. Or maybe it’s not the right size. Something about it. Not in this puzzle. Everything is drawn perfectly. It is a puzzle worthy of framing.

Breakfast Table Puzzle from White Mountain

We have a love/hate relationship with this Breakfast Table puzzle from White Mountain. We love the vintage kitchen. The pots, the stove, the fridge, the radio… everything. Except one thing. The toy truck on the floor just isn’t right. It looks like an after-thought. Like it was pasted in at the last minute because someone had some leftover clipart. We feel the puzzle would’ve been great without it. But, fortunately, it’s small enough that it really didn’t detract from us enjoying the final result.

Puzzling The Day Away

This Breakfast Table puzzle from White Mountain is just one of those puzzles you can work on all thru the day without realizing the time has passed. It was fun to do and fun to look at when completed. That’s not to say that there weren’t challenges. The cabinets are similar throughout, making the green pieces a bit tough to place. Same with the flooring and wall paper. Most of the rest of the puzzle was fairly easy but still quite fun.

The Last Piece

This 1000 piece puzzle included a poster. The assembled puzzle is about 30″ wide and 24″ high. The pieces fit fairly well and the image quality on the pieces is good. The pieces are cut into really interesting sizes and angles, making them rather fun to put together. And it’s almost impossible to put a piece into the wrong place. The colors were great and bright.

American Diner Puzzle from White Mountain

What a fun puzzle the American Diner puzzle from White Mountain was! We really enjoyed it, from the moment we opened the box and saw the large, thick, quality pieces to the moment we stepped back and enjoyed the assembled work. There are so many great nostalgic elements in the picture. Classic diner food. Great styles. Cool cars. And blast-from-the-past signage. This was a fun one!

Let’s Do The Twist!

You can almost hear the tabletop jukebox blaring out classic tunes while you’re assembling this American Diner puzzle from White Mountain. It took us a while to put this one together. We had plenty of time to listen to plenty of music that’s for sure! There are very few simple spots in this one. Challenges can be found everywhere. But, we hardly noticed how tough it was since it was so much fun to do!

Beach Fun Puzzle from White Mountain

This Beach Fun puzzle from White Mountain was a bit different for us. Usually, the puzzles we buy and assemble have very sharp, defined colors and edges. Many, we suspect, are designed on computers. Some come from paintings, but border on being almost mechanical in their detail and accuracy and sharpness. Not this one. This is more like a painting. The edges are a bit softer. Mellower.

Busy Beach Time

The image in this Beach Fun puzzle from White Mountain is busy. There’s lots of ‘stuff’ to be found. And challenging spots all over. The softer images make it even more challenging, a little harder to tell which pieces go where. The beach and sand were tough. As was the water and sky. The objects found all over were a bit easier. This was a fun puzzle to do.

The Last Piece

This 1500 piece puzzle included a very colorful, nice poster. The assembled puzzle is about 32″ wide and 24″ high. The pieces are nice and large and fit together very well. There is a small poster included.

Summer Breeze Puzzle from White Mountain

I am pretty sure we both heard the ocean waves while making this Summer Breeze puzzle from White Mountain. And we could hear the gulls and the warm summer breeze blowing across the porch. This was a great puzzle that was fun and relaxing to do.

Relax When You’re Done

Oh sure, we’d all like to be sitting in the image from this Summer Breeze puzzle from White Mountain. But before we can dream of that we have to put it all together. And that’s not as easy as it might seem. There are a few challenging spots to be found. The chairs, rug and the cream-colored wood posts and ceiling for example. The sky and ocean, often a tough spot in many puzzles, were actually pretty easy to do.

The Last Piece

This puzzle contains 1000 pieces and includes a poster. The final puzzle is about 24″ high and 30″ wide. The pieces are big, thick and fit really well. The image is crisp and bright and detailed. This is a great, quality puzzle!

Book Nook Puzzle from White Mountain

We often go from easy puzzles to hard puzzles and back again. The easy puzzles give us a little breather before diving in on the ones that are more challenging. Like this Book Nook puzzle from White Mountain. Although not super difficult, it did offer a few challenges along the way. There are some decidedly darker areas of this puzzle making it a little harder to tell the pieces apart. But the hope of a great looking puzzle kept us going until success!

Kinda Spooky

I found parts of this Book Nook puzzle from White Mountain a little spooky. Not scary spooky. There are lizards around. And mice. Little things like that. You’ll find them as you go and think “wow, look at that!”. And the lighting made me think “spooky”. But it’s a fun picture and quite relaxing to sit back and enjoy. So I guess it’s spooky in a good way!

My wife did not find it spooky but instead thought it’d be a great place to read!

Reader’s Paradise Puzzle from White Mountain

Some puzzles make you feel warm. Comfortable. Relaxed. Or at least they do me. I think a lot of that is the colors in the picture. Soft colors. Pleasant images. It’s not a coincidence that often those puzzles are made by artist Aimee Stewart. Her puzzle artwork is by far some of my favorite. The Reader’s Paradise puzzle from White Mountain has its share of challenging areas for sure. It’s a great puzzle to relax to. It’s fun to put on your favorite music and sit down and enjoy a pleasant puzzling experience!

It’s a Good Time For a Magnifying Glass

I made heavy use of my magnifying glass when putting together this Reader’s Paradise puzzle from White Mountain. The colors alone weren’t enough to distinguish many of the books.

There’s a bit of brown in this puzzle. That definitely added to the challenge. As did the white and more, the balusters. There are lots of great details in this puzzle. Fun things. You get that with Aimee Stewart‘s puzzles and that’s what makes them so great!

The Last Piece

Bob’s Hardware Puzzle from White Mountain

How fun!!! Oh how we loved this Bob’s Hardware puzzle from White Mountain. The colors and quality did not disappoint. We enjoyed every piece. And we really enjoyed the final image. That’s not to say that there weren’t difficult spots as we went along. But that’s ok. We knew that our efforts would be rewarded in the end and they were.

A Colorful Challenge

This Bob’s Hardware puzzle from White Mountain is busy. There’s stuff everywhere. Colorful stuff, too. Similar colors too, that make things a bit more challenging. The shop windows were tricky. I started by putting together the large sign above the shop thinking that it would be a walk-in-the-park. I was a bit wrong. It took me longer than I had expected. That’s ok. A puzzle with a few tough spots makes for a more enjoyable experience, I believe. We were really happy with the colorful imagery in the end. This is one of our favorite puzzles.

Cereal Box Puzzle Set from White Mountain

One of the most dangerous places for us to walk into is a store that sells puzzles. Self-control? Non-existent as soon as we grab the door handle. Remorse? Never! This time the ‘culprit’ was the Puzzled Fun & Games store located in what is called The Island in Pigeon Forge, TN. You talk about puzzle heaven! This store is a great place to pass away an hour or two, going down aisle after aisle looking at puzzle after puzzle. We immediately proceeded to make a pile of puzzles at the checkout counter. One of the first to go on the stack was this Cereal Box Puzzle Set from White Mountain.

Fun! And More Fun!

This set consists of 6 boxes, each a different puzzle, 100 pieces each. Yep, they’re packaged just like the single serving cereal boxes of our childhood. The graphics on the pieces were bright and colorful. The pieces fit perfectly. They’re smaller puzzles that aren’t too hard to complete but they were super fun to put together.

Flashbacks

The fun part of assembling the Cereal Box Puzzle Set from White Mountain was of course thinking back to our younger days when sugary cereals were more common in our diets! But I do admit, I had some frosted flakes out of a small box at a hotel breakfast just the other day! The only thing missing were the morning cartoons on TV!

The Last Piece

Each ‘cereal box’ puzzle comes in its own resealable baggie. There is no poster included with this puzzle, but honestly you really don’t need one. Each puzzle is about 9″ high and 7″ wide. This is a fun puzzle and would make for a great gift for all ages!

Pretty As A Pitcher Puzzle from White Mountain

We both really enjoyed putting together this Pretty As A Pitcher puzzle. Available from White Mountain, it has 1000 pieces. We purchased it at our local grocery store, Meijer. Meijer often has pretty good sales on puzzles. We make it a habit to walk down to the ‘other end’ of the store where the puzzles are any time we are shopping for groceries. It’s rare that we come away empty handed. And often, we come away with a puzzle from White Mountain.

Quality And Fit

As with the other White Mountain puzzles we’ve done, we found the quality of this Pretty As A Pitcher puzzle to be good. The pieces fit well. They were random cut, which is something I prefer. There was just a bit of dust in the box when we opened it and started sorting.

Fun And Rewarding

The colors on the pieces were bright and crisp. And although there are several pitchers in the picture that are similar in design and color, it wasn’t difficult to tell the pieces apart. The wood shelves were slightly more challenging but not so much so. We wouldn’t call it a particularly difficult puzzle. But we would definitely call it fun!

The Last Piece

The finished puzzle was around 24″ high and 30″ wide. The box included a color poster, which is always a plus for us since we each like to have a picture of the final puzzle while we are assembling it.
